If you're like me, you're often inspired by the world of fashion. One trend that keeps popping up on the runways is lace, which also happens to be a staple of weddings. Known for its classic elegance, lace adds romance to everything it touches. It can be sentimental, sweet, romantic, sexy – it's so versatile, and has long been the root of much of my creativity.
Naturally, my brides often want to weave this feminine design into their invitations. But we here at Ceci New York don't always choose the literal route – check out the amazing laser-cut bellyband we created for Ceci Bride Jacey, whose Minneapolis wedding, magnificently planned by Amy Zaroff, was dripping with classic details, a gorgeous muted color palette of golds and creams, and a knockout Vera Wang dress. And that's just the tip of the lace iceberg: Head to my Style Edit where I'm helping you infuse a touch (or, a lot!) of this swoon-worthy embellishment into your life in a beautiful, stylish way.
For even more lace inspiration, we visited my good friend and master of all things wedding gown, Mark Ingram of Mark Ingram Atelier. In addition to possessing an amazing business acumen, Mark has a certain natural talent for selecting just the right thing to make a girl feel gorgeous. He actually helped me with my own wedding dress, an amazing Oscar de la Renta gown you can see here. For this week's cover shoot, captured by the lovely Kat Harris, Mark styled me in a black lace stunner by Marchesa. It was so much fun to play dress up and take a twirl in this amazing creation. A fairy tale of an afternoon!
