Butterfly kisses and birthday wishes! For my daughter Elle's 2nd birthday party, I wanted to give her a girly, fun birthday theme inspired by the things that she loves. Elle is obsessed with the color pink and loves butterflies, so that became the inspiration to incorporate into her 2nd birthday party theme. I ultimately decided to paint a variety of watercolor butterflies and have fun with it! I ended up painting at least 10 different types of butterflies, which we featured everywhere – on the invitations, stationery, custom printed gift wrapping paper, butterfly wands and wings for the littler girls. And even as the party decor, where the butterflies appeared to be landing on an ombré balloon feature wall!
I had this vision to create a balloon wall that was symbolizing the sky and my watercolor butterflies would land on the balloons as they flew. The balloon wall was created by the hard working team at Balloon Place, and it was truly a labor of love – the setup process took almost a full day! In the end we all agreed it was totally worth it, and Elle and her friends absolutely loved it too. Speaking of things that are totally worth it, Elle's sequined motorcycle jacket and pink tutu dress from I Love Plum completely stole the show – my entire #TeamCeci wanted adult versions of that jacket for themselves, don't you?
