An Enchanting Secret Garden Inspired Laser Cut Wedding Invitation

What greater place to draw inspiration from than a dreamy setting like the French coast. A getaway spot for #Cecibride Charlotte and her family since the time she was little, so many special memories had been created on these beaches with many new to come. With this suite, we wanted to focus on the natural beauty of Ile de Ré’s breezy shorelines and the charm of the rich history that built the town. Charlotte’s love of a secret garden theme provided the perfect concept for us to feature soft florals with enchanting details set in light, coastal tones like dusty blues, purples, and blush.

Our visions of the save the date mimicked the allurement of a storybook garden in which guests were given a small box with an ivory belly band. This was decorated with cascading pink florals and rustic hand calligraphy. Once opened, there sat a brushed gold key hung upon an ivory satin ribbon that enticed guests to enter the tale. The card that held the key included the same blooms from the outside of the box with the details of the event written in deep green lettering. We felt that the small size of this piece fit the intimate tone of the wedding itself and created a unique captivating feel that the island exuded.

The design for Charlotte’s invitation was based in the plentiful nature that colored the setting alongside the gentle, antique homes and shops that sprinkled the streets. In the process of playing with the romantic surroundings and scenery, we found a unique way of telling the town’s story by adding texture from multi-colored layered laser cuts. After opening the ivory envelope hand-calligraphed in the same playful technique as the save the date belly band, a bed of soft green flowers lay atop the invitation. Guests opened the first layer to reveal the second, a light blue silhouette of rustic windows with wooden shutters and a dainty bike. Underneath, the event details sat amongst the couple’s delicately detailed golden crest that mirrored the crest stamped upon the back of the envelope. This suite certainly painted an enchanting story of the beautiful wedding that kicked off this couple’s lifelong tale together.
