For our Ceci Couture client, Ksenia, it's tradition in her family to host amazing, themed 1st birthday parties for her kids that are over-the-top in the best way possible – and the 1st birthday party for her son, Brandon, was no exception!
Ksenia came to Ceci New York for an invitation design as unique as the party itself! With the theme of the party set as Cabaret, Ceci and the design team kicked off the invitation design process by sketching and dreaming up initial ideas. Our goal was to evoke the look and feel of a real cabaret stage in a unique and unexpected way.
As you can see in our sketches below, the idea was to create a cylinder invitation which featured transparent, red acrylic with gold foil stamped text. The invite was set in the center of the cylinder and appeared to float on the stage. As you read the invitation, your eye discovers the cabaret dancers
(also pictured in our moodboard below) enticing you for what's to come, further setting the scene! The top and bottom featured a B for Brandon with lit-up marquee inspired typography. The entire piece was packaged in a red velvet pouch tied with a gold, silk tassel, giving a nod to the red velvet curtains of a cabaret stage.
